‘Papilo how u dey na; these days u jus dey bone me’ Sara teased…. He hadn’t responded to her greetings since the day Debora walked in on them both…

‘Abeg jus dey your lane…my market no dey move’ he complained…

‘Ah…na for everybody side e dey happen, no be only you…cheer up! My guy’ she walked closer and tickled him….

‘Una no dey shame for road’ one of the hawkers teased and they all burst out laughing…

‘Come Sara wey dat your friend….I never set my eyes for that girl for days now…’ the rest concurred… It was such an irony… when her friend was around, most of them hated her for no reason, and now she was gone they were interested in her whereabouts….

‘una too dey do amebo….abeg make e end dia o’ she hissed and returned to her stand as she heard her phone ring…

‘Nawa o’ they jeered back at her…

She hurried towards the phone…maybe Deborah had called her…she had promised to keep in touch….

As she walked closer, she noticed a woman… could that be Deborah’s mother? she almost retreated but the woman had already seen her. She didn’t want to get involved in this…what was she to say?

She was going to be held at ransom… ‘Welcome mummy’ she smiled…

‘Sara thank you…where is your friend…?’ the woman was more frightened as she had carefully scanned the whole area but her daughter wasn’t present….

Sara bit her lip…she had to think about this carefully…

‘Mummy it’s a long story…but she is safe, that’s all she had asked me to tell you’

‘What’s that supposed to mean’? could Deborah abandon her this way? No words from her…no calls…

‘ I’m really sorry but she would be terribly angry with me if I divulge any information concerning her….I feel she would make contact with you when she is ready’….
She felt like a devil….how could she have listened to her friend? But she knew Debora more than any other person….

Beneath her fragile exterior….she could be very determined and strong willed…and if she went against her wishes, that would be the end of their friendship…

The woman sighed dejectedly and turned to leave…Sara couldn’t bear this…

‘Mummy please take this and buy yourself a drink’ she offered the woman some of her money…

‘I don’t need your pity…you’re obviously feeling guilty for your cruelty….whenever you get in touch with my daughter, tell her to come back home…I still love her’.

‘ I’m really sorry’ Sara cried out… but the woman was already far away…

Selene had decided to join her siblings for the shopping…. She had something up her sleeves. The new maid was too attractive to be ignored….she had her plans…and she knew what swayed girls like her…they were moved by gifts…

There was no time to waste…no time for endless pursuit…she was going for it…

‘tell me more about her’ she beckoned on Clara who stared at her shockingly…

‘Why should I’ her sister was really weird…. Selene never interacted with domestic workers…something fishy was going on….

Her brother was really quiet like something bad had happened to him, ignoring Selene she turned and faced him…‘what’s going on bro’?

Selene hissed angrily… their mother had spoilt Clarabella…she had no courtesy whatever… ‘you are such a pig’

‘well if am a pig…you are my sister…therefore an elder sister of a baby pig, is a big fat pig’ she returned in the same pace…

Ani couldn’t help but laugh…. Seriously his sisters needed to take the chill pill… going shopping was an idea to get his mind off some things…and here they were fighting because of the same person he was running from.

‘ Ani, you support her’? Selene’s temper could burn a house down…

‘I think you’re overreacting sister mine…’ he answered …

‘Overreacting? This fool just insulted me and you call it overreacting’? she rolled her eyes at the insolence…

‘Hello … I’m still in the car’ Clara called out to her but Ani’s eyes silenced her….

‘But I think Clara was right…you rarely mix with people like that…so it’s kinda weird…forgive me but I don’t see any wrong’ he shrugged….

‘Stop the car’ she yelled…she couldn’t take this no more…

‘We aren’t near the supermarket you know’? Clara teased….

‘Did you hear me Ani’? She screamed louder this time and he was forced to bring the car to a stop.

‘Take care of yourself Selene and go get yourself some anger management skills’ he couldn’t stomach this…there was so much already in his plate…

She sighed as he drove away…what had she been thinking? Well the only place she could chill out was at Morgana’s .

‘that was actually rude Clara’ Ani cautioned her…

he understood why she acted that way towards Selene…Selene was very arrogant and she cared less about others…

‘I know and i am sorry’

‘Save that for your sister’ he concluded and they continued in silence.

‘What’s really bothering you…talk to me …I am your sweet sister’ she pleaded…

‘I can’t tell you right now…am still confused about it’… he knew what he felt but he wasn’t sure, it couldn’t be…

‘Alright if you say so’ ….

‘You can do me a favor….tell me about the new maid….I am equally curious’

Clara smiled sweetly…wasn’t this just wonderful?

‘I don’t really know much bro but from what Andy told me…she’s trying to help out her family, that’s why she needed the job so badly…she’s nice and friendly’
she shrugged….Debora wasn’t totally free with her…

‘That’s too little…you should get closer to her you know’ Ani tried sounding neutral to her charms…he didn’t want Clara or any other person to get suspicious.

‘Well that’s why I followed you for shopping… I wanna buy her a little gift’
Ani rolled his eyes….Clara was a very smart girl; she was probably out of pocket money and decided to cling to him for support…

‘What’? she questioned the way he looked at her…

‘Nothing’ he smiled…girls were tricksters of their own making…

‘I have my own cash’ she screamed and brought out her purse…

‘Hmmm, what do you think she would like’? he asked….he wanted to buy her something beautiful that would match the color of her eyes…

‘Are you taking my order’? Clara coughed…why would he do something like that, if he didn’t feel any attraction towards her…

‘I guess that’s a thank you’! he replied. ‘What’s her name again’?

‘Deborah’ Clara winked….her plans were falling in place.
