CHIEF FELIX’S RESIDENCE

Pascal sat down in the garden in deep thoughts.

After his confrontation with Jide, memories of Jummy came pouring back and he couldn’t help but cry..

He drowned the cup of whisky in front of him and tossed on the chair.

Even the cool air couldn’t calm him.

Jummy had been the only girl he had ever loved and after her demise, he couldn’t bring himself into loving any other girl even as hard as he tried.. This turned him into a Casanova… All these years, he had hold grudges against his brother for the death of Jummy!

“I told him to take care of her.. I f—–g told him to keep her company not drive her around!!”He screamed and broke the glass cup of the ground and busted into tears..

“Uncle Pascal”came Juwon’s tiny voice..

Pascal turned around and saw the little boy looking at him..

“Are u okay? You broke the glass cup and Grandma says it’s not good to destroy things”he said innocently moving in front of Pascal who looked at the boy speechlessly.

“What is your name?”Pascal asked confused not even knowing what to say to the boy.

“Oluwajuwon”

“And how did u know mine?”Pascal asked holding his little hands

“My Daddy told me…”

“Oh..”Pascal didn’t know what else to say to the boy who kept looking at him deep in the eyes.

“Uncle.. Are u angry with my daddy?”

Pascal was taken aback “Uh.. Why do u ask?”

“Because u shouted at him back there.. Maybe he did something wrong to you but Aunty Titi told us to always forgive one another and that anger is not good”

Pascal looked surprised “Who is Aunty Titi?”

“My Sunday school teacher… You know, she buys me biscuits and chocolate every Sunday and she gives candies to all of us who answers her questions correctly..She calls us smart children”Juwon smiled

Pascal couldn’t help but smile also

“Am I a smart boy?”Juwon asked peering into Pascal’s eyes

“Yes of course you are!”Pascal said smiling..

Juwon smiled back feeling happy..

“Instead of breaking glasses and getting angry, I want you to smile”…Juwon said to Pascal who was surprised..

Did u say this is a 5-years-old boy??

Fauzi and Uche rushed into Fauzi’s car and drove off…

Uche was the one driving..

“Fauzi where should I drive to?”Uche asked

“Just drive to the outskirts of the town..we could look for a hotel there or something..”

“OK”

He kept driving and then noticed something..

“Fauzi, we are being trailed!!”Uche screamed lookingt the rare view mirror

“What? How?”She asked shivering

“Look at the rare view mirror.. That red jeep has been following us for sometime now!”

Fauzi looked out and saw the jeep

“Move to the other lane let’s see..”She said

Uche diverted to the next lane by the right and indeed, the red jeep followed thus..

“Oh God! What are we to do now?”Fauzi cried

“Just hold on..”Uche said

He doubled his speed and diverted to an untarred road by the left.. He moved on lifting dusts from behind… He moved in to a bushy part and sped up.. Fauzi looked back and couldn’t find the red jeep anymore..

“Alhamdulilah… They’ve lost track of us”She jubilated..

“Now am going to move through this other way back to the high way.. From there, we’d follow the village route out of town”

Fauzi nodded..

Uche sped up and move back to the high way going through the village route out of town..

Suddenly, the red Jeep appeared from nowhere

“Gosh! here they are!!”Fauzi screamed..

The red jeep was almost catching up with them..

Uche increased speed and moved fast but the red jeep was faster..

Boom! The back tire of Fauzi’s car went off.. Someone inside the red jeep had shot the car..

Uche tried to control the car but to no avail..

“Uche watch out!!!!!!”Fauzi screamed as a trailer ran speedily from the other end.. Uche tried to control the car but it was too late..

The trailer collided with the car and everything went blank!!
