Read Story: SEASON 1 EPISODE 24

She was so determined to make him pay for what he did to her family. This was the chance to finally confront him, to finally get rid of him, thought Kundai with so much hurt in her heart. She thought it was going to be so much easier for her to meet Diablo in real life since she had seen some of his pictures but then it wasn’t. With the way she was feeling by just standing there with him, she wanted to stab him hard on his heart.

Diablo on the other hand thought that it was Nyasha. Well she didn’t know that she had a twin or did he find out about the news when Kundai went missing, he was out of the country trying to find a qualified doctor to heal him. His new wife had already abandoned him; she refused to take care of someone who was sick. Fadzai on the other hand had abandoned her brother as she was trying to prove a point; no she was actually trying to impress the elders for she wanted to be the Queen.

Kundai had been standing there looking at Diablo and she hadn’t said a word to him.

‘You don’t recognize me. Do you?’ she asked.

If only she knew that he had no idea who he was.

‘It’s you Nyasha.’

‘You have been seeing her right?’ she said with a laugh and Diablo just looked at her with so much confusion.

This sickness was really making him lose his mind, he thought to himself. But wait, why did Nyasha have a bandage on her head, he asked himself the question. Meaning she isn’t my Nyasha right and the mole, now he was beginning to see real things. He walked to her and Kundai took a step back.

‘Don’t come near me,’ she warned.

‘I am not going to hurt you,’ and he wasn’t since he had lost his powers.

He was just an ordinary person like her. Kundai swallowed hard not wanting to show her fears.

‘You are not Nyasha right.’

‘Yes Diablo!’ she shouted with so much anger in her voice.

‘Please just call me Farai. I am not Diablo anymore.’

Kundai laughed so much hard that her laughter was filled with tears, she was laughing in pain.

‘Spare me the drama. What happened to the devil you? I am Nyasha’s twin sister.’

‘You resemble,’ he was overwhelmed with guilt.

‘You killed my sister.’

‘And I am very sorry about that. I am very sorry that I failed your sister; it was never my intension to hurt Nyasha. I just loved her a lot and I wanted to marry her,’ he said with a hint of pain in his voice.

He meant every word that he said to her. It’s like Nyasha was his downfall, when she died his life suddenly changed and now he is about to die with cancer. He always wanted to talk to Nyasha again and ask for her forgiveness. He had loved Nyasha and he had tried so hard to protect her family as well. He felt betrayed by the elders when they couldn’t help him save Nyasha and here Kundai was mad as hell and ready to take his life.

‘I kept praying for the day that I would meet you and make you pay for my family’s deaths. How many people did you kill Farai? Just how many,’ she shouted with tears streaming down on her face.

‘A lot of people and I live to regret. Trust me; I am not proud of what I did. I am not proud at all and I just want to change,’ he said and Kundai noticed that he was nose bleeding.

‘You are bleeding,’ she said to him.

He took the handkerchief from his pocket and wiped off the blood.

‘What’s wrong with you?’

‘I was diagnosed with blood cancer. I have few months left for me to kick the bucket,’ he said in a funny way and just smiled.

‘You don’t get to die with cancer Farai. After all the people that you have killed, you can’t just die.’

‘Trust me I have been through worst. I have been seeing all those people that I have killed.’

‘It serves you right. You deserve what’s coming your way and I will make you pay.’

‘Please I am sorry.’

‘You are not sorry!’ she shouted more.

Shane had returned with the doctor when he found no one in the room. They were searching the whole building for Kundai when they had some noises coming from the roof top.

‘Kundai!’

Shane ran to the stairs and Kundai had already found something to hit Diablo with. She was holding on to it very tightly ready to hit him with it and Diablo was down on the ground as he was feeling weak from his sickness and continued nose bleeding.

‘I am sorry,’ he said weakly, ‘you can do this. You can finally make me rest in peace. Go ahead and hit me with it.’

Kundai walked slowly to him with tears in her eyes. She lifted it up and closed her eyes. She was about to do it when he grabbed it from her.

‘Kundai.’

‘Give me that,’ she shouted trying to get it from him.

‘You can’t do this.’

‘Let’s just kill him Shane. He deserves to die, let’s kill him.’

‘Kundai, no,’ he disagreed and pulled her into his arms.

‘Let go of me,’ she shouted hitting his chest and the doctor helped Diablo to get up.

Kundai cried hysterically in his arms, all the pain she was holding, she just wanted to let it all out. Seeing Diablo and not being able to make him feel what she was feeling was just something else. On the other hand, Diablo was put back on his bed and he asked to see Shane from the doctor.

‘Are you sure you are ready?’

‘It’s now or never,’ he said to the doctor.

Shane walked back inside with Kundai and made her lay on the bed. Her parents had arrived and so he left her in the hands of them. He wanted to go and see his uncle when he walked out of the room. The doctor was coming from Diablo’s room when he saw Shane and called out his name. He told him that Diablo wanted to see him. Shane wasn’t even sure, no he was surprised. He walked to Diablo’s room and he was just lying on the bed thinking about his life now and what he had been through for the past few months. Shane slowly opened the door and by closing it, he inhaled deeply. None of them would have imagined Diablo sick on the bed fighting for his life.

‘I didn’t know that you would agree to come,’ he said in a low tone and struggling to get up.

Shane rushed to his aid. Yes, Diablo might have killed his parents to but God would want him to forgive Diablo in this kind of situation.

‘Thank you,’ said Diablo when he was able to sit on the bed, ‘I am sure you are surprised to why I called you.’

Shane was quiet as he waited for him to continue with his conversation.

‘I know what I did is unforgivable. Growing up I loved church a lot and I was a singer hmmm I was part of the church choir. Every day I would go to church with my sister but then 1 day my parents made us stop going to church. I didn’t ask why because I was mostly afraid of my dad’s response, he is one man who never wanted to be asked some silly questions. That fateful night I was in my room reading the bible when my dad barged in and grabbed the bible from my hand, he burnt it. I was so much hurt because I loved the bible. It’s the thing that my grandmother left for me. My dad told me that God was our enemy. I was only 14 years old when he made me join the league and when I killed my first person, a boy who used to bully me at school. I didn’t know what I was doing but what I knew is that all the belief that I had of GOD just sort of vanished. I didn’t want to hear anyone talking about God, it made my ears hurt a lot. Every time someone mentioned that name, I would hurt them. Now I didn’t know that they will come a time where I would want to find a man of God to pray for me and for my sins to forgiven because I am only left with few months before I die.’

Shane listened attentively as he continued with his story.

‘Shane I know what I did to you is unforgivable and to all the people that I hurt but I am sorry for causing you so much pain. I loved Nyasha a lot and I never wanted her to die. When the elders killed her and I got diagnosed with this disease, they told me that there wasn’t nothing they could do for me, I had lost my powers and whatever was happening to me at that time I deserved it. But now for my death to have a meaning, for I to die in peace. I really need your help with something.’

‘What is that?’ asked Shane.

‘I need to destroy the league. We need to make this place a better place for our children and by doing so; we need to destroy the people who are making this place not safe for innocent lives.

‘You are betraying them.’

‘This will never be a betrayal Shane but me saving this city from dying. This is what I can do to make up for all the horrible mistakes that I have done in my life. I know there is a team of prayer warriors and I will tell you where you can find the elders and the thing that keeps them powerful should be destroyed.’

He went on to tell him what they were supposed to do with his team.

For they went carrying their bibles with so much faith filled upon them. They were not prepared for this day but this was it and they had to fight for their city no matter. A group of followers that believed in the Lord of almighty stood outside the gate of the devil. The most high will command the angels to guard you in all your ways. On their hands they will bear you up, so that you will not dash your foot against a stone. We need to believe that Satan has already been completely destroyed (Heb 2:14) and simply enforce his defeat. The only power he has is the power to deceive. Our battle should be against wiles of the devil, not the devil himself. The only power Satan has is the power we give him when we believe his lies.
