{Will you still love me.. when youâve met my demons}
Aimee, Gina, and Meryl drove to Aimeeâs house late in the night, screaming and squealing in the car.
âWeâre p@rtying at my house tonight.. my parents are in a vacaâ Aimee shouted over the loud music
âAlright!â Gina and Meryl squealed dancing to the music that was pla-ying in the car. They arrived at Aimeeâs house and the car c@mÂŁ to a st©p.
âweâre soooooooooo gonna blast the mansionâ Aimee laughed, turning off the stereo as they unfastened their seatbelts
âyouâre so rich Aimeeâ Gina said admiringly when they entered the living room
âletâs not talk about that now.. itâs p@rty, p@rty, all nightâ Aimee turned on the music with the speakers loud that there couldnât even hear themselves âIâll go get you girls something to drinkâ Aimee shouted over the loud music and danced to the drinks bar. She hummed to the music as she chose drinks from the bar. She placed the drinks on a table and went to get a tray in the kitchen when she heard what sounded like footsteps in the kitchen.
âGina?! Meryl?!â she called but there was no answer. Her pulse ramped up. Itâs nothing, she told herself, Iâm imagining things. But then the floorboard beside the stove gro-an ed. She frozeâ all her breath ceased.
âGina?! Meryl?! Donât pl@ypranks with meâ terror made her voice shrill. She strained to ear, but her heart pounded too loudly and her breathing was harshâŠ
The kitchen door suddenly closed and Aimee screamed.
âAimee?!â Gina and Meryl shouted and ran to see what was happening to Aimee.
âAimee open the doorâ they shouted trying to open the kitchen door to no avail. Aimee continued screaming and running round the kitchen. The kitchen door suddenly opened and Aimee ran out screaming with her hands raised up in the air. Gina and Meryl went after Aimee as she ran up the stairs screaming. Aimee ran into her room and Gina followed immediately. Before Meryl didnât run in, the door closed and couldnât open again.
âGina open the doorâ Meryl shouted ban-ging on the door. From the room c@mÂŁ the most horrifying sound Meryl ever heard. It was a whole series of sounds.
First there was screaming, Aimee screaming, âGina! Gina! No!â
Then a resonant crash, the sound of glas-s shattering, as if a hvge hundred of windows were breaking at once.
Then Aimee screamed.
And it all st©pped. Everywhere bec@m£ quite again.
âGina?! Open the doorâ Meryl shouted and the door opened. There was no one behind the door. Who mustâve opened it?
Meryl walked in and saw Gina. She was standing with her hands at her sides, as motionless as a block of stone.
âGina! What happened? Whereâs Aimee?â Meryl asked almost immediately.
Gina didnât turn, didnât answer. She was staring straight ahead at the window. Meryl traced her gaze to the balcony railing that had been blasted out like the French windows. Meryl ran to the window and st©pped on the edge of the dizzying drop. She could see straight down to the lighted yard below. On the ground there was a twisted figure like a broken doll, nÂŁÂąk bent at a grotesque angle, lim-bs askew, black hair fanned on the dark soil of the garden. It was Aimee Norman.
âDid you push Aimee out the window?â Meryl asked Gina. Gina shook her head in tears and Meryl hvgged her.
âyou can always tell me the truthâ Meryl said and tears trickled down her cheeks âAimee is lying dead down there and you were the only one in the room with her. What happened?â
Gina chocked on her tears âI donât knowâ
THE NEXT MORNING â
Damon stomped into the homeroom and met Courtney alone on Aimeeâs seat.
âWhat happened to Aimee?â he asked furiously
âwhat do you mean?â Courtney asked back, feigning ignorance
âYou heard me right. What happened to Aimee Norman?â
Courtney rolled her eyes âwhat would I want from her?â
âyou threatened her Vivienneâ
âpoint of correction. Itâs Courtney and not Vivienneâ
Damon sl@pped the table and it split into two âyou wanna know what am capable of doing when am angry?â
âI didnât do anything to herâ
âyou canât lie to me Vivienne. You and I know you pushed her and made it look like her friend didâ
âWhat if I did?â
âHow could you take the life of the innocent girl? Now Gina gets the blameâ
âweâre devils and itâs destruction remember? You shouldnât be having human sympathy simply because youâre in a human formâ Courtney stated
âyou shouldâve remained in hellâ Damon pushed the split table to Courtney âjust stay away from meâ he added and stormed off.
âam down with cleaning the science clas-sroomâ Deanna said joining Hilda in the trophy case near the back of the school.
âThat was quic-kâ Hilda said cleaning the trophies carefully
âAm so tiredâ Deanna heaved a de-ep sigh and sat on the floor âand hungryâ she yawned
âDidnât you have breakfast?â
âI didnâtâ
âWhy?â
Deanna sighed in depress âNothing reallyâ
âweâll steal leftovers from the kitchen after lunch timeâ
âwouldnât that be risking our jobs?â
âwhoâs going to sack us for leftovers that should be thrown into the trashcan?â
Deanna shrugged âas long as Iâll get something to eatâ
Hilda replaced the last trophy on the shelf. She looked around for a way to get down from the stool she was standing on. Her eyes drifted to Damon who was walking towards their direction with his friends.
âohhhhhh myyyyyyyy gosshhhhhh!!!â Hilda squealed
âwhatâs wrong Hilda?â Deanna asked
âDamon is coming this wayâ she screamed jumping excitedly. Forgetting she was standing on a stool. âHeâs insanely h0t.. catch me Deannaâ she shut her eyes dreamily and fell back
âyouâre standing on aâŠ.â Deanna was still talking when Hilda c@mÂŁ crashing on the floor and Damonâs friends bur-st into laughter
âoh my! He laughing at meâ Hilda blu-shed
Deanna rolled her eyes and helped Hilda up âis he worth risking your head?â
âHeâs coming to talk to meâ Hilda straightened her hair and looked at Deanna âhow do I look?â
âBeautifulâ Deanna replied
âThanks Deanna, youâreâŠâ Hilda trailed off as Damon walked pas-sed them with his friends. Her eyes wi-de-ned in disbelief âdid he just walk pas-sed me?â
âI think he did or heâs going to come backâ Deanna replied
âThat does it.. am done crushingâ Hilda blurted out âI heard thereâs a new guy in school and heâs abominably handsome so my crushing formula has changedâ
Deanna laughed âyou mean Stefan?â
âThe guy you spoke with yesterday. Is that his name?â
âyesâ
âGreat! My crushing formula has officially changed to
@@@@@@@@@â
Deanna laughed âyouâre so funny Hildaâ
âletâs go to the school garden.. we deserve some restâ
Deanna nodded then they carried their leather duster and squeegee mop and walked out.
âDid you hear the news about the death of Aimee Norman?â Hilda asked Deanna when they got to the school garden
âwhoâs Aimee Norman?â
Deanna asked back as she sat in the gras-s
âsheâs the last daughter of the Commissioner for oaths in United Kingdomâ Hilda explained
âI donât know herâ
âshe used to be a very nice person.. so humbleâ
âwhat happened to her?
âShe was found dead just below her window, she mustâve fallen out the windowâ
âMaybe she jumped or somethingâ
âShe didnât. Few seconds before her death, she was heard screaming and begging her friend Gina, who we suspect mustâve pushed herâ
âso sadâ Deanna drawled âBut why would her friend push her?â
âGina is insisting she didnât push Aimee. She said someone was chasing them but it isnât like the house is haunted or somethingâ
âmaybe sheâs telling the truthâ Deanna said
âHey! Deanna!â Stefan called walking into the garden with a bag
âMy crushâ Hilda fluttered her lashes admiringly
âHi Stefanâ Deanna greeted
âHowâre you doing?â Stefan asked Deanna
âsheâs fineâ Hilda interrupted âand an Hilda by the wayâ
Stefan chuckled âamâŠ. â
âStefan.. I know alre-adyâ Hilda cut in
âI got you thisâ Stefan proffered Deanna with the bag
âThanks.. am so hungryâ Deanna said
âwhat about me?â Hilda pouted herl-ips
âI didnât know she had companyâ
âdonât worry, weâll share mineâ Deanna said
âIâll see you laterâ Stefan said âwait for me at the school gate after schoolâ
âSureâ weâll be waiting togetherâ Hilda said
Stefan smiled âalrightâ and walked out
âDid you see?â Hilda blu-shed madly âhe smiled at meâ
Deanna frowned. Stefan was her crush and she wasnât willing to share him with anyone.
âLetâs eatâ Deanna stated and started bringing out the things Stefan had bought from the bag.
Deanna hurried to the school gate that day to meet Stefan. She wasnât done with her duty but she managed to sneak out. She bu-mped into Damon who was also running and almost fell but he caught her.
âAm so sorryâ Deanna apologized
âyou should beâ Damon replied sternly and re-leased her
âYou dropped thisâ Deanna prompted when he was about to walk out
Damon paused and looked at her That was when he recognized she was Deanna. âWhat are you doing here?â he asked
âHave we met before?â
âRight! That isnât even my businessâ he stated and proceeded to walk out
âAre you leaving this behind? ItâsâŠ.â Deanna trailed off when she realized Damon wasnât listening. He walked out without wanting to know what he had dropped.
âA walletâ Deanna muttered and opened Damonâs wallet âso muchâ she brou-ght out the notes and realized there were thousands of dollars. Deanna looked around to be sure no one was watching her then she replaced the notes in the wallet. She continued searching and found his credit card.
âI guess he doesnât know he dropped his wallet. Iâll return it laterâ she closed the wallet and shoved it into her bag then she ran to the school gate.
âyou kept me waitingâ Stefan said accusingly when Deanna met him at the school gate
âAm sorry.. Iâve been really busyâ Deanna apologized
âwhereâs Hilda?â
âshe couldnât sneak outâ weâve got piles of work to doâ
âso youâre not going now?â
âNot till am done with my workâ
âI wanted to give you a rideâ
âmaybe some other timeâ
âcall me when youâre done and Iâll come pick youâ
âAlrightâ
âGoodbyeâ Stefan waved with a hvge grin but he wasnât ma-king any attempt to leave. He just stood staring at her.
âyou should leave nowâ Deanna said
âI.. uh.. canât st©p staring at youâ
Deanna blu-shed âam not going to ask you to st©pâ
Stefan laughed âthen Iâll have to st©p myselfâ
âGoodbyeâ
Stefan smiled then walked to the car that was waiting for him and st©pped by it. âGo in firstâ he said to Deanna whirling around.
Deanna reluctantly walked into the school then Stefan got into the car and the driver drove off.
LATERâŠ.
4:14 pm đ đ đ
â⊠Is this how you work
everyday?â Deanna asked Hilda when they were done and were walking out of the school
âHectic right? I do this everyday to be able to help my blind motherâ Hilda replied
âI guess Iâll have to get used to itâ Deanna sighed
âwhere do you live? We could walk togetherâ Hilda said
âam not going yetâ
âwhy? Are you waiting for someone?â
Deanna thought of a perfect lie to tell Hilda. She didnât want to tell Hilda the truth that Stefan would come pick her cause she knew Hilda would insist on waiting.
âThereâs someone I have to visit down the streetâ Deanna lied
âAlright then. I wouldâve accompanied you but am really tiedâ Hilda said
Deanna smiled with a hidden grin âgoodâ
âGoodbye!â Hilda waved
âGoodbye. See you tomorrowâ Deanna grinned as she watched Hilda walk out throu-gh the school gate. She took out her phone and tried calling Stefan as she walked out throu-gh the gate. Immediately she stepped out throu-gh the gate, someone snatched her phone from her.
âHey! Give it backâ Deanna shouted as the person turned his back to her and started walking out. She couldnât tell who he was cause he was wearing a big jacket with a hood.
Deanna ran after him shouting âgive me my phoneâ
He increa-sed his pace and walked into an alley. Deanna followed him but couldnât find him again. She ran to the end of the alley but there was no sign of anyone.
âHereâ he c@mÂŁ out from behind her and threw her phone to her
Deanna caught the phone by a hairs breath âyou almost smashed my phoneâ
âWhatever! Am suffocating in thisâ he said and pu-ll-ed off the hood
âYou againâ Deanna g@sped realizing it was Damon
âAm Damon, if youâre interested, not you againâ
âAre you Stefanâs cousin?â
âI hate to remember thatâ Damon rolled his eyes
âwhat?â
âNever mind. I c@mÂŁ to get my walletâ
âThen you shouldâve just to me instead of snatching my phone and bringing me hereâ
âI wish I could apologize but I canât.. Now my walletâ
Deanna scoffed âyouâre so proud, Mr Presidentâs sonâ
âloud mouthed Stefan told you thatâ Damon laughed hysterically âwhat are you to him anyway?â
âI wish I could tell you but I canât.. now hereâs your walletâ Deanna brou-ght out his wallet from her bag and threw to him
âI hope my notes are completeâ
âyou can check, am not a thiefâ
Damon shoved the wallet into his pocket âIâll try to believe thatâ then he turned and proceeded to leave
âThatâs not the way to say thank youâ Deanna prompted
âI wish I could say âThank youâ but I canât.. maybe some other timeâ he stated and walked out
âMr arrogantâ Deanna scoffed
