? Julia’s p.o.v?

“Cut the crap Rodrigo,you didn’t execute the task and the dumb me paid you full and I even added a huge amount of money as bonus” I told Rodrigo over the phone.

“You are probably hallucinating because we executed the task and I trust my guys”.

“Sure you did” I said sarcastically. “Rodrigo,you would pay for this. I promise you” I threatened and the idiot snorted.

Who the f–k does he think he is?.

“Are you threatening me Julia?”.

“What if I am?” I snapped.

“Then you are in for it. I should be the one threatening you and remember you have no f—–g right to talk to me this way,we both know what I am capable of and this is not the first time I am executing a deal like…”

“Oh spare me the shitty talk Rodrigo,we both know I am saying the truth and you and your guys didn’t do shit and you are going to pay squarely for that”.

“Be sure of what you are asking for milady or you might just regret this. No one fucks with me this way and we both know the dangerous things I am capable of. We both know how many people I have helped you to clear away,let’s see how that would be useful to my course”. He said snidely.

“Only if you would live to tell the story” I snapped before hanging up.

Bastard.

“Who was that?” Someone asked and I froze.

I turned to see Aunt Rosa. What the hell Julia? You were f—–g shouting in someone else’s house.

What to say?

I forced a smile. “Just someone buggy” I said

“Someone buggy? Who is the person?” She asked again and I sighed inwardly.

“Not someone important aunt”.

“Not someone important? It looked pretty important with the way you were yelling over the phone,that was what drew my attention here anyways”.

“Aunt it’s nothing…the person just likes to bug me,it’s nothing important” I said again.

“I hope you aren’t doing anything shady because…”

“Aunt I said it’s nothing,so stop worrying” I smiled before taking the shopping bag I brought with me. “I got these stuffs for you,there are the latest designer dresses in Scotland now” I said changing the topic swiftly and she smiled immediately all traces of worries gone.

Who doesn’t like good stuffs?

“This is so nice” she said checking them out. “Wow look at the neckline of this dress, it’s really beautiful” she gushed and I smiled.

“I know right, it’s a limited edition so I ensured to get it for you”.

“That’s so sweet,hope It didn’t cause you any trouble?” She asked.

“Trouble? Of course not”. I replied.

This particular dress caused me alot of trouble to get but she doesn’t have to know right?

“So I heard Kim is back?” I asked her.

“Yes she is. I don’t think she is here to stay though” she paused. “She is a different person now and that just makes her more difficult to handle” she complained.

“What’s it this time?” I asked feigning concern.

“She and Ashton has a child together and she gave us all a hard time…” she continued on but my mind was far away from whatever she was saying after she said the first sentence.

Ashton and Kim has a kid?

The f—–g child survived? Here I was fussing over the fact that Kim was still alive,I didn’t even know the child survived.

I can’t just get Ashton now can I?

“A kid?” I managed to ask.

“Yes a beautiful girl” she gushed. “I haven’t met her in person though but Ashton’s elder sister has and she wouldn’t stop talking about how beautiful the child is. I am happy we have a new addition to the family”.

“Even though it’s Kim’s child?” I asked.

“Yes, it’s Kim’s and Ashton’s child. For all I care the child is my only son’s daughter, automatically she is my grandchild and I can’t wait to meet her”.

“You think Kim would let you?”

“Of course,why not” she paused . “I don’t think she would but I have to try first right?”

“Hmm. Yes you have to try. So how is Ashton taking the news”.

“He is elated”.

“Elated?”

“Of course he is. Though it was not easy at first to get the child to see Ashton,their lawyers had to settle it outside court,they drew a timetable and the kid is allowed to spend time with her father and I believe they are exhausting the time well”.

“That’s good” I drawled out.

“Yes very good”.

“So how’s is Kim and Ashton?”

“Kim and Ashton? I honestly have no idea how things her between them because…you know, Ashton doesn’t talk to me about things like this”.

“Okay. I have to be on my way now” i said before picking my hand bag.

“So soon? You haven’t even spent up to an hour with me” she complained,only if she knew I had many things going on in my head right now.

“I am sorry. I just wanted to drop by to pay you a quick visit and drop the stuffs I bought for you”. I explained.

“Thank you. I really appreciate you dropping by to say hi and the dresses are beautiful”.

“I know right. I have to be on my way now,I have an outing to attend with my mom”. I lied.

“Send my greetings to her please. Have a safe ride”.

“I will. Take care of yourself Aunt” I said before pecking her on her cheeks.

My mind was occupied throughout my ride to God knows where. I definitely didn’t want to be alone right now with the thoughts going on in my head but I definitely didn’t want to be with people that would mock me.

Who wouldn’t mock me right now?

Over the past five years I have tried my absolute best to get Ashton to love me through one way or the other,but all proved futile. Yes I got his mom to coax him into attending different red carpet events with me. Of course he did but he was as stiff as a log of wood,the public might have portrayed it like we were both in love or something but I knew we were far away from that.

After attending most events together he either treats me like a leper or he finds various excuses not to drop me off at home himself. It began to get tiring and frustrating after several attempts but I didn’t give up yet because I knew Kim was out of the way.

I remember telling him about knowing the deal he had with Kim and he waved it of saying me knowing about it doesn’t guarantee the fact that he was gonna have anything to do with me. It was heartbreaking then but I didn’t stop trying yet but he wasn’t still budging and it was like I just wasted my precious time ,energy and resources over nothing…it was futile in the end and it sucks.

I just wasted close to six years of my life on nothing.

The fat Ariana and the saucy harieth are both living well with their respective love of their lives. Who would have thought Ariana would get a man to love her before me. Ariana? The fat Ari.

Since they both got married a year ago they rarely pick my calls or honor my outing invitations. Yeah,I was the pathetic one in the group.

How the mighty have fallen.

“F–k you Kim” I yelled to no one in particular.

Great,I was loosing my mind too.

? Kim’s p.o.v?

“So I won’t be picking you up today”. I told Charlotte.

“Then who will?” She asked.

“Your dad will” I replied.

It sounded rare saying ‘your dad’

“Daddy?”

“Yes. You guys would go out to have fun” I told her.

“Really?” She asked again.

“Yes” I replied.

“I love that” she squealed and I smiled at her.

“So why didn’t you take the files to the finance department?” I asked the lady in front of me.

“I wanted to but the boss said I should wait till this week is over”.

“Great,i already cross-checked it,you should take it to the finance department now”.

“Okay I an on it” she said before excusing herself.

I focused on the paperworks on my table,it was like it wasn’t reducing. Good job Tyler,it was today being Monday that Tyler decided to catch a flu and stay at home for ‘extra care’ according to him.

“Yes” I said over the telephone.

“Someone is here to see Mr Tyler” my secretary said.

“I thought you were aware that Tyler isn’t on seat today”

“Yes I know, but she requested to see you in place of Mr Tyler. She brought in some coolval stories important documents concerning the partnership”.

“Send her in” I said before hanging up.

I hope I don’t faint because of excess work,why can’t I fall sick too today?

F–k you Tyler.

I heard a knock.

“Come in please” the door opened to reveal the last person I expected.

Immediately she raised her head up ,a look of recognition flashed through her eyes.

“Kim?” She called.

“Yeah it’s Kim. She didn’t die” I told her smirking. “How can I help you Brenda?” I asked. I got no time to waste on petty talks with a betrayal.

“I was asked to drop…”

“Have a seat” I told her. I only did that to show my level of professionalism,if it was up to me I would let her seat 1000 miles away from me.

“Thank you”.

“Go on”.

“I was asked to drop…the…se..fi…no,…the .. documents” she stuttered.

The b—h was already disoriented,I passed her a polite smile. “English please Miss” I requested.

She cracked a force smile before looking me in the eyes. “I was asked to drop this file for either you or Mr Tyler and I got to know Mr Tyler isn’t on seat”.

“Let me have a look” I requested and she passed the documents to me.

I flipped through the pages not really understanding what’s written there.

Okay Kim, let’s torture Brenda a little.

“Can you summarize what’s written there” I requested and she nodded before passing me a smile that didn’t reach her eyes.

She began to tell me what’s was written there,she was literally squirming and I was beginning to worry for her. I didn’t hit her or engage her in any tedious activity so why was she squirming.

Her guilty conscience maybe.

Looking at her,she didn’t really change over the years. She was still the same Brenda,Just little wrinkles here and there.

Just how much do Ashton make them work there?

Her facial look was different this time and it was quite surprising that she wasn’t decked up in make-up,she looks natural with her sunflower shirt and nude skirts,her hair was tied up in a tight bun and she was sweating. What the hell,there was a running air conditioner here so why was she sweating.

Probably her guilty conscience again.

“Am I making you uncomfortable?” I asked wearing a smirk.

“No,not…not at all.” She paused “I already summarized everything written there I hope you have a look” she said.

I didn’t even here anything.

“Sure I will. Anything else miss?” I asked.

She wss a Miss because there was no ring on her fingers and I am so sure she isn’t married yet.

“No…not at all. I would like to take my leave now”.

“Sure,you should be on your way” I said curtly before focusing on the documents on my table.

“Excuse me then” she said and I nodded still not raising my head.

I took a deep breathe immediately I heard the click sound of the door.

What the hell just happened?

“Do you need any help ma’am” my secretary asked and I shook my head.

It was getting late,it should be 6pm right now.

As much as I wanted to get home because Ashton is meant to drop Charlotte off by 7pm the work I had left said otherwise and I definitely wouldn’t leave this for tomorrow. What if Tyler decides not to come again? I would be left with double of the work.

“I can offer you company you know?”

“Don’t stress it Kylie. Remember you told me you have a date,you wouldn’t want to bail out on the poor guy right?” I told her and she blushed.

“I didn’t know you remembered that”.

“Of course I did”.

“The date is till 8pm,I can still be of help now”. She insisted.

I shook my head “no, don’t bother Kylie. You should take care of yourself with the 2hours left” I told her.

“But…”

“No buts,this is past working hour. You should be on your way now” I said with a tone of finality and she smiled before nodding her head.

I was so engrossed in balancing the accounts, something doesn’t just sit right with the account the finance department balanced. There seems to be something wrong with the account and I was so confused because after different attempts it was still in a dead end.

I sighed,the company was silent now but that wasn’t gonna stop me from doing what I needed to do.

“Mommy!” I heard Charlotte squeal before my door burst open to reveal Ashton and Charlotte.

Just wow.

“Mommy”. She screamed again.

Her screams weren’t helping my tired brain cells,it was just increasing the migraine.

I sighed before smiling at her. “Yes baby,keep your voice down” I gestured with my hands.

“Daddy said you weren’t picking up your phone and nanny called you a few times too and we thought something was wrong with you”.

I sighed before bringing out my phone from my bag,I gasped when I saw the time. It was thirty minutes after eight in the night. I didn’t know time have gone. True to her words there was several missed calls on my phone.

“I am really sorry,I was so engrossed in what I was doing” I apologized but when my eyes scanned the room to look for Charlotte she was already out of my view. “Charlotte?” I called.

“She is in there” he said pointing to the conjoined room “said she has to pick something up there”. Ashton said and I sighed.

“Great excuse to feed on more sugar” I said knowing she went to no other place than where the refrigerator was kept.

“How are you doing?” He asked me.

Great, Ashton asking me how I am.

“Good. Very good. I am sorry for whatever trouble I caused you,I didn’t know time was far spent”.

“No,it’s alright” he replied

“I would just quickly balance this” I said out of courtesy when he wasn’t planning on leaving yet.

“I can be of help if you don’t mind” he said and I raised an eyebrow. “It looks like you are having a hard time balancing it”.

“No it’s alright” I declined.

“No it’s nothing,I just want to help” he insisted.

“Fine” I gave in,there was no point in arguing,I wasn’t getting it and there was a huge probability he was going to get it.

He came over to where I was sitting and after studying the documents for few minutes he began to balance it, something I have been trying to do for hours now.

He was dangerously too close to me and it wasn’t helping in any way and d–n,he smelled too nice.

Okay Kim,focus. It’s still Ashton.

He went on to explain some of the things he was doing and I nodded absentmindedly,I wasn’t hearing any of it,he was too close to me and I was uncomfortable in a good way.

What the hell is wrong with me? He was still the same Ashton, handsome as hell but he would burn you if you get so close.

Focus Kim!

I couldn’t help but notice how his Adam’s apple bobbled whenever he was explaining anything,how he ran his hand through his hair when he was finding something tough and….

The clearing of throats brought me out of my shameless ogling.

Okay,just kill me now.

“Huh?” I asked wearing a neutral look.

You don’t f—–g affect me.

Lie!

“I was explaining something but it looked like you already zoned out” he said.

“No,I am listening to whatever you are saying” I said.

“Sure,you can balance this then” he suggested and i nodded. At lest he would leave my side and I would be able to concentrate.

I focused on the paperworks but surprisingly he didn’t leave my side. My hair kept covering my face and I kept packing it back,at a point I decided not to pack it again.

I wanted his help out in the one I wasn’t getting when I noticed he was dangerously closer to me and I gulped.

This was not good.

“What?” I gulped nervously.

“I was wondering how kissing you would feel like” he said with his breath fanning my face.

His face came really close to mine and his lips where about to land on mine when…

“Mommy!” Charlotte screamed.
