“I am taking my leave now” I told my secretary. “Cancel the other meetings I have today…or you can take care of it” I instructed.

“Okay boss”.

“Don’t switch off my office light,I don’t remember asking you to do that yesterday”.

“I am sorry”.

“Great”.

“Have a great afternoon”.

“You too” I mumbled before making my way out of the company.

It was a Friday and it was my turn to pick Charlotte up from school. Yeah,we did the school runs that way and it have been going pretty well and fun too. I never expected having a kid to be this fun,I always thought kids were just a bunch of trouble but with Charlotte it have been different.

I was going to pick her up today before branching at Kim’s house to pick Charlotte’s stuffs for the weekend.

It sounds new right?

Yes of course, Charlotte would be staying at my place for the first time. I don’t know how Kim feels about the news because Charlotte just popped the question earlier this week and even though she didn’t feel so comfortable about it she had no other option than to give in.

I don’t know how staying alone with a kid for the weekend would be but I was looking forward to it. The girl was pretty smart so they shouldn’t be any problem right?

Kids can be an handful at times but I love my kid .

I don’t know what to call Kim and I situation right now but I sincerely hopes she gives me a chance. After our near kiss attempt that Charlotte interrupted,I had a little hope that a part of her might still want me and would forgive me and I was honestly working towards that because I still want her…like so f—–g much and it’s so hard to be with her in the same place without touching her….it was so frustrating like that.

I knew it would take some time before she might eventually give in to me because Kim is stubborn and all what transpired between us just fueled the fire but I am still not going to give up either.

“So where are we going right now?” Charlotte asked again. “Are we going to the park or the zoo?”

“You wanna go there?”

“Yes” she grinned.

“We would go tomorrow,is that okay?”

“Sure” she replied smiling. “Daddy?”

“Yes”.

“Aren’t you going to stop there” she said pointing to a shop.

“Stop there? Why? What are they doing there?”

“It’s a ice cream shop and uncle t usually stops there whenever he comes to pick me up” she explained

“Uncle t?” I asked again.

“Yes uncle t as in uncle Tyler”.

“He comes to pick you?”

“Yes,and he usually buys me ice cream”

“So you want some ice cream?”

“Yes…are you going to get me some?”

“Sure,I would get you more than what uncle t gets you” I told her.

“”Yayyy” she shouted.

“Are you okay with this?” I asked Kim and she looked at me confused.

I was currently as Kim’s house to pick Charlotte’s weekend stuffs.

“Okay with what?”

“With Charlotte staying with me over the weekend”.

“Sure,why won’t I be. As long as she is okay with it,I am too”.

“Okay…”

“I need to explain some things to you…follow me please”. She said before leading the way.

“Her bedtime is 10pm,she doesn’t take anything sugary from 8pm because if she does,it wouldn’t be good” she chuckled. “She doesn’t sleep unless you read her a story or sing her a song to sleep” she paused probably waiting for my reaction.

This can’t be good.

“Really? A song?”

“Yes,can you do that?”

“Of course I can read the bed Time story but I can’t sing”.

“It’s fine. As long as you can do any of it”.

“Okay, anything else?”

She shook her head. “Everything should be alright as long as she isn’t high on sugar or anything….yes,she takes a glass of milk every morning and evening”.

“I wouldn’t forget that,I would drop her off Sunday evening,any particular time?”.

“Actually I have somewhere to be on Sunday afternoon and the programme might run through the early hours of Sunday evening… and Charlotte has school on Monday”.

“What time should I come to drop her then?”

“I actually don’t know right now”.

“How about we do this? You branch at my place when you are done with the programme to pick her up or you give me a call when you are home”.

“It’s fine then,I would do either of the two”.

“What about you?”

“Huh?”

“Would you be okay on your own?” I asked.

“Sure,why won’t I? Tyler would be here anytime from now”.

Tyler?

“Is he staying over for the weekend” I asked.

I definitely sounded creepy right now.

“Yeah, why?” She asked raising an eyebrow.

“Nothing,just asking”.

“So do you like the room?”

“Yes daddy I love it,can I get chocolates now?”

“No you can’t. You have taken enough sugar today”.

“Just a bar” she pleaded.

“No” I deadpanned.

“Really?”

“Yes really”.

“So you feel good about all of this?” Tyler asked

“Yes,I surprisingly feel good”. I replied nodding my head.

It wasn’t a lie,I surprisingly felt good about all of this.

“D–n I should be a counselor” he joked and I gave him a flat look.

“Hope you got your flu treated?”

“Yup, can’t you see how okay I am”.

Okay that sounded shady, something doesn’t just feel right about Tyler catching a flu.

I gave him a puzzled look “Tyler,did you really catch a flu?”

“Yes,why would you ask me that?”

“I don’t know. But did you really catch a flu?” I Asked again

“To be honest. No I didn’t”.

“Then why did you lie?”

“Wanted some time off…the workload was killing me softly” he said dramatically.

“What about me?”

“You are a workaholic” he mumbled.

“Great, that’s why you wanted to kill me with work?”

“No,I didn’t want to kill you. I would be honest here,my relationship is really suffering because I have no spare time and Alexa isn’t hearing any of it anymore,she feels like I am not serious about this and I am just wasting her time…”

“And?”

“And I had to let her know I am serious about this so I had to take a few days off and I am well aware you won’t let me off the hook so easy so I had to use catching a flu as an excuse”.

“Really Tyler?”

“I am sorry” he smirked.

“So you were on a sex Marathon for about a whole week while I was working my head off?”

“Not just that,you won’t believe what we did…we both know Alexa is pretty wild in bed”.

“Really Tyler?”

“I am sorry but I just had to say that it was pure fun and a special time for us… let’s forget the sex part Even though we had a whole lot of that”.

“You are disgusting”.

“I know I am. Alexa told me that when I was eating her…”

“Oh no,I am not listening to that” I said before standing up.

“Now you are doing too much” he said.

“Right I am doing too much,not everyone likes listening to your sexual escapades about eating, s—–g and whatever horrible thing you guys did”.

“Hahahaha…I didn’t even mention s—–g,you sure have different scenarios going on in your pretty little head”. He chuckled.

“But you were about to mention that”.

“But I didn’t,so you definitely were reminiscing whatever you have done with the Ashton dude”.

Now I frowned. “What’s that suppose to mean?”

“Nothing,nothing at all…I get you don’t like to talk about your sex life….”

“Really Tyler?”

“Have there been another…like really memorable… you know the stuff right?”

“What stuff?” I asked raising an eyebrow.

“The stuff …what grown people do”

“I am not gonna stand here and talk to you about this Tyler” I said feigning annoyance before walking away.

“Really?”

“Yes really”. I yelled on my way down the hall

“You are no fun…get me a glass of juice bro” he yelled to my retreating figure.

It was Sunday evening,should I say evening or early hours of the night because this was after 8pm at night. I honestly didn’t expect them to take too long at the business program,I thought it was an hour or two thing but it turned out to be a four to five hours program.

Like what the heck.

I was currently on my way to Ashton’s house,yes Ashton’s house. I should have just given him a call to come drop Charlotte home but it was raining,yes it was as much as I wouldn’t have loved to come here I couldn’t just say ‘bring Charlotte home’ when I wasn’t even home yet.

The f—–g rain caught up with me before I even left the premises of the program and f–k if that was not frustrating enough,the rain already beat me so I should just bear with it right?

I should have just taken a u_turn home but I didn’t because I had to get Charlotte, don’t get me wrong,there was no sin in leaving her there but she got to go to school tomorrow so taking the rain as an excuse wasn’t a point.

The rain was heavy and I blamed myself for not having a rain check first. I was cold, very cold because I was putting on a wet cloth and the thin material of the shirt I was putting on wasn’t helping at all. I should have worn a freaking t-shirt or a thicker material.

“F–k you”I snapped before tapping the GPS that was displaying ‘information error’ “not today b—h” I said frustrated already.

I knew the way to Ashton’s house,why would I forget that. But I didn’t know the route to pass from where I just left to his house because I didn’t know that part of town well and that was why I was using the GPS that decided to f–k me up right now,I knew the signal would definitely fluctuate because of the rain but it could have done better than this.

“Not now idiot,not now please” I said tapping it furiously as if it knew what state I was in it immediately read ‘detecting location’.

“Bastard” I said before chuckling,the idiot almost gave me an heart attack.

I parked my car in front of the giant gate.

Should I call or I should just input the passcode,but what if he already changed it,it have been five years already.

I picked my coat on the passenger seat,not like it was going to prevent me from the rain that much but at least it’s better than nothing.

I didn’t know the rain was this heavy,it was like the rain was whipping me. I inputted the password and surprisingly it worked,I was surprised it was still the same password but at least it worked for me on a good today.

I ran back to the car,I decided not to discard the wet coat since I was still gonna come out right?

I drove in and the gate slid back…wow technology.

That’s how it have always been though.

My ride towards the main house wasn’t as easy as I thought,it have been five years since I moved out of here, this house held many memories that I have been trying to forget but I just can’t. This was the house I lost my virginity duh.

Was I ready for this?

Ready for what Kim?you are just gonna go in and pick Charlotte nothing is gonna happen okay?

Yes,I was prolly over thinking.

I ran out of the car,I am sure I looked like a homeless creature right now,I definitely made a right decision not to deck my face up in make-up for the programme because if I did it would have just been worst right now.

Why does my appearance has to matter? That’s not what I am here for.

I would have inputted the house passcode since he didn’t change the main entrance passcode there is a huge probability he didn’t change this either but i didn’t want it to look like I was invading his privacy so I pressed the bell thrice before I resorted to knocking.

The rain was heavy they probably won’t hear and I was definitely scared of the wind right now what if it blows me away and my wet clothes weren’t helping at all.

I sighed,what was taking him so long and d–n I left my phone in the car. I was giving my self a pep talk on running back to the car to pick my phone when the door slid open.

His eyes widened when he saw me,oh don’t tell me I looked the bad.

I just wanted to get my daughter okay

“Uhm hi” I said awkwardly.

“Aren’t you cold?” He asked. Okay he looked concern or it was obvious he was.

“No,no I am not” I lied when it was pretty obvious.

“Cut the crap,you are. Come on in”. He suggested.

I didn’t want to go in there,just bring Charlotte out.

“Huh?”

“I said you should come in,the rain is heavy and staying outside with wet clothes isn’t healthy”. He said again.

Okay I am literally the dumbest person in this world.

“Okay” I answered unsure.

“Here” Ashton said handling me a mug.

“Thank you” I mumbled before sipping the scalding hot beverage.

I looked around the house,it was still the same except from the little visible touches. I still recognized the paintings we got from the art auction.

Where was Charlotte?

“Where is Charlotte?” I asked since I haven’t seen her run around.

“She is asleep”.

“So fast?” I asked before looking at the clock. It was pretty late.

“Yeah,guess it’s the rain”

“Yeah”.

“Your clothes are pretty wet…you think you could change into something else?”

I looked down at the clothes,yes there were pretty wet but I didn’t understand what he is insinuating right now.

“I don’t…”

“I have few clothes that can..you know fit you,not so well but at least it’s better than the wet thin clothes” he suggested.

Wet thin clothes? I suddenly felt body conscious. How did I really look like now?

“So what do you say? And you guys can’t probably leave under the rain,the rain has to stop first” he continued on.

“Fine”.

“Okay c’mon” he said leading the way.

“I can make you something to eat”. Ashton offered and I nodded.

Not my fault,I was hungry and the rain hasn’t stopped yet.

I was in a comfortable sweatshirt that was two times bigger than me and a joggers. It was comfy and it kept me warm forget the Ashton smell that comes with the cloth…right I couldn’t forget that.

“Let me help” I said out of cutcee because I knew I wouldn’t be doing anything there,yes he was a better cook than I was but I wouldn’t just leave him alone to do the work right?

Was it only that?

He mumbled out a ‘fine’ and I stood up to follow him immediately.

I don’t know what he was preparing but he seldomly asks me to pass something and I pass it to him.

“Can you wash this?” He asked passing a sauce pan to me.

“Sure” I replied,he still doesn’t like cleaning.

Somethings never change.

I went to the sink before grabbing a sponge when I felt a presence behind me,it was definitely Ashton. He was towering behind me and he turned on the tap before washing his hands.

Okay this was an awkward position,I was confused already d–n if that was not more embarrassing.

He just stands at my back and I lose all my sense of reasoning that was so unfair.

Focus Kim.

But it was so hard to do that when he was undeniably so close to me and he wasn’t planning on leaving soon because he already turned off the tap but he wasn’t moving yet.

“Do I make you nervous?” He whispered and I gulped.

“N_no” I croaked out.

Way to go Kim,way to know you aren’t disturbed by his presence.

“Great” he said his hot breathe fanning my neck,this was awkward.

He went further to trail kisses down my neck… it actually felt good and it got me on the edge.

“W_ what are you doing?” I asked when I finally found my tongue.

“What do you think?” He said still not halting whatever he was doing.

Funny enough I didn’t want him to stop.

He turned me around before I could complete my sentence.
