Episode 7

Since it was Saturday mercy Johnson had so many things to do usually on Saturdays so this one wasn’t an exception. We la!d on my bed and talked for a while before she ask me to get up and take my shower and then come downstairs for breakfast I nodded my head and head into the bathroom to take my bath.

Around 10am she was all set to leave, she asked if I would like to join her but I decline, I wasn’t feeling too good for outing so I stay back. Immediately she drove out of the compound, I went back into my room and slept.

Some minutes after 12 Danzumi our gate man came and knocked my door, I asked who it was and he said ” madam na Danzumi” I asked him to come inside.

LESLEY
Dan, what is it? ( my eyes still close)

DANZUMI
one man is out there he said he wants to see you.

LESLEY
What man? ( surprise he could speak English that good)

DANZUMI
I asked what his name is but he wouldn’t tell me, he just said I should tell you its important.

I got tired of the questions and answering so I asked him to show the man in, he nodded opened the door and left. Some minutes later he returned back informing me the man was in the living room, I thanked him and he left, I looked my face in the mirror to be sure it wasn’t rough before I went downstairs.

The man had his back turn against the staircase so all I saw was his back, I climbed down the stairs and stood at his back.

LESLEY
Hello, they said you wan…..( I lost my voice immediately he turned his face)

FREDERICK
Hey, you were saying?

LESLEY
What are you doing here Mr?

FREDERICK
Don’t be rude, that’s not the way you welcome visitors

LESLEY
What do you want from me? You ain’t my visitor because I never invited you here.

FREDERICK
Okay fine, I know we didn’t set up in a good kinda way and I’m sorry I just wanna be friends that’s all.

Friends did I just hear him say he wants us to be friends? Has he ever seen where tiger and dogs are friends? Being friends with him is like throwing my heart in the river and I’m not going to do that

LESLEY
I can’t accept your friendship, I’m sorry.

FREDERICK
But why? Why does it seem like you don’t like me?

LESLEY
What? And why should I like you?

FREDERICK
(he chuckles) don’t be silly everyone likes me, so why won’t you?

That got me so annoyed, apart from being a viper and a womanizer his also full of himself, Jesus Christ.

LESLEY
I don’t like you and if that hurts your feelings or record you can hung yourself for all I care, now this should be the last time you visit me.

FREDERICK
(Shock written all over his face) she said she doesn’t like me( he said to himself) wait like seriously you don’t like a cute guy like me? An actor number one finest celebrity? Nah I don’t believe you.

LESLEY
Believe it or not I dislike you, your pride, the way you dress and all these rubbish you have around your neck like a wild dog makes me hate you more.

I could see anger written all over his face, it hurts his pride that everything other girls sees in him that make them run after him is the same thing I’m seeing and I hate him for, he dropped the little gift bag in his hand and walked out without saying a word, I called him to come back and pick his gift but he didn’t turn back. I took the gift inside my room and kept it on the table, not long mercy Johnson return home, with lots of gift for me and a new phone I was surprise how she knew my phone had gone bad.

LESLEY
How did you know my phone got broken?

MERCY JOHNSON
I saw it this morning at the dinning, what happened to the phone? Looks like something that barely survived an accident.

LESLEY
( I giggle) you remember the person I told you accidentally ran into me with his drink last night?

MERCY JOHNSON
Oh! That’s how the phone ended up this bad?

LESLEY
Yeah, thanks for this thou( I kissed her cheeks and ran upstairs with my gifts and new phone)
I tasted all the clothes and shoes she bought for me, it all fitted so well and beautiful.
I went to stand in front of the mirror to see my pink short gown how well it suit my body then my eyes fell on the gift Frederick brought earlier, curiosity took over, I tried to ignore his stupid gift but I could not so I opened it, to my surprise it was a phone not just any kind of phone an iPhone.

I should have been happy right? And just insert my sim and start using it right? Hell no it didn’t move me, being hard on him is the only way to get ride of this nonsense crush. I turn on the phone and to my surprise there was a sim card in it, checked all the contact but found only one which he saved with ” my number ” I laughed so he actually wanted to be friends with me? Hell yes I’m going to call him to come take his stupid phone I told him I didn’t need anything from him…
