Episode 13

SLY.

Never in his widest of dreams did it ever occur to him that he would develop feelings for a target one day. It wasn’t him and probably not what he is known for. He doesn’t even know himself as someone that can develop feelings. No, at first, he denied it but, it wasn’t for long. He never felt responsible for taking care of anybody all his life, well, not after the death of the only person he cared about; his sister. His life was devoid of emotions. But, now, he feels responsible for this girl whom he was supposed to eliminate and go on a vacation with the bounty which was placed on her. It would have been only a matter of days before he forgets her and everything about her.
Before he was contacted for that operation, he already decided that he needed a break which he planned on taking before that particular job. The offer had been so tempting to walk away from; fifteen million naira, nah, he wasn’t stupid enough to walk away from such offer. Though that would be like a drop in his account but it wouldn’t hurt becoming fifteen million richer.

He had made up his mind, setting a time limit to finish up with the operation and go for his vacation. He’d planned going to the UAE to spend one week after which he’d make his way to England to see a couple of Premier league games live for two weeks, then move to the United States for another two weeks before making a detour to Nigeria but, look where he found himself, protecting someone that stood against him and his vacation.

He’d found himself dreaming about the girl every night and having her in mind during the day. He always looked forward to seeing her with the breaking of each day.
