Read Story: SEASON 1 EPISODE 14
After Clara had left his shop, he locked himself up right there and he was left with the sleeping girl.
Katie.
He moved her to his secret room inside that same shop.
He placed her on the roaster which he had already filled with kerosene.
He brought out his lighter from his pocket and danced to an imaginary rhythm excitedly.
He began to sing out loudly.
When the blazing sun is gone
When he nothing shines upon
Then you show your little light
Twinkle, twinkle, all the night
He woke her up by injecting her.
He wanted her to be awake while he was roasting her so that she will feel the pain.
She had to feel the fire piercing into her skin and jerking out her bones.
He closed his eyes to feel the sensation of just the mere thought and salivated.
That smell of a burning skin.
He would burn her body bit by bit with his lighter.
HIS MAGIC LIGHTER.
He placed a black cellotape on her mouth.
She tried to struggle out of that room that he had tied her to and tears filled her eyes.
His sister had helped him to tie Katie to the bed before she left.
Katie could never escape.
No matter how much she screamed beneath that cellotape, no one would hear her.
He hummed the second stanza of Twinkle twinkle Little Star.
He suddenly stopped short when he heard movement from somewhere.
Suddenly the ceiling tore apart on his head and Raymond Maxson jumped in.
He gasped and stepped back at the sight of him.
Raymond rushed towards him aggressively and punched him on his jaw until he lost his strength.
Two policemen jumped into the room through the ceiling and released Katie.
She panicked and rushed to hug her brother.
âBrother, I thought that i would dieâ. She panicked.
I waited patiently by the car and when I noticed them coming out with Katie, I rushed to place a blanket around her.
The police men walked out of the shop from behind with the handcuffed and badly injured Steve Austin.
They pushed him into the van and drove off.
Raymondâs subordinates drove Katie home while he remained right there with me.
Tears filled his eyes as he stared at me.
I wiped his eyes with my finger. âRaymondâŠâ.
âWhat would I have done if you didnât come into my life? What? Tell me!!!â. He hugged me. âIf not for you, what would have happened to my sister? You saved my only sister! You saved me! How can I repay you?â. He kissed me on my forehead as tears trickled down his cheeks.
Raymond glared at Steve Austin as they sat facing each other.
Steve Austin chuckled. âLook how the almighty âRaymond Maxson was deceived for so longâ.
Raymond placed the recorder on the desk and played the recorded conversation between him and his sister which Rosa had recorded through the bug she had placed in his shop. âDoes this sound familiar?â. He asked him expressionlessly.
Steve Austin fumed at him. âYou want to arrest my sister because of mere words?â.
Raymond smiled. âMere words? Well the mere words will only implicate your sister if you donât tell me everything behind those mere words that we both just heardâ.
âNathan killed his son. He made me kill his son and feigned the whole thing like an accidentâ.
âWhy would Nathan kill his biological son?â.
Steve Austin shrugged. âWell that is because he was not his biological son. Gretta had cheated on him after they got married and made Nathan believe that he was not the father of the baby until the biological father of that baby had contacted him and told him everything. One month after Grettaâs wedding with Nathan, she had cheated on him. Just one month! Nathanâs heart was broken and my sister had mended back the heart. Few months to Grettaâs death, she had found out that Nathan had known about the paternity of the child for a long time and also how he had killed her child. She blamed him for killing her child but she was scared of her family finding out that she had committed adultery. With the kind of principled man that Alexander Anderson was, he would never allow her to have that inheritance because of that act of adultery that she had committed. Gretta had struggled on what to do, that was why she was quiet and pained without telling anyone the reason and eating herself up in silenceâ.
âWho killed her?â. Raymond asked as he searched his eyes.
âI killed her of courseâ. Steve Austin answered.
Raymond rolled his eyes. âYou have a witness in prison that was with you the day Gretta was murderedâ.
Steve Austin fumed at him. âI killed her!!!â.
Raymond smiled. âYour sister killed herâ.
Steve Austin burst into laughter. âWhat evidence do you have to back that up?â.
Raymond smiled to himself. âArnoldâŠâ.
âI have told you everything you bastard! I escaped from the prison and killed that bastard!!!â.
Raymond walked out.
He walked along the road, holding Rosaâs hand possessively. He thought deeply about Arnoldâs last words. âWhen Arnold had sang that song to me, he had killed two birds with one stoneâ.
Rosa looked up at him. âWhat do you mean?â.
âHe had used that song to link everyone that was involved in Grettaâs murder but he had also sang Twinkle twinkle Little Star in a different way that day to tell me somethingâ.
âHow do you mean?â.
âInstead of singing it like this, âUp above the world so high, like a diamond in the skyâ, he had repeatedly sang it like this, âUp above the wall so high, like a diamond in the sky. He had said Wall, not World. He had repeated it so many times and emphasized the WALL so that I would get the messageâ.
âAre you saying that the evidence is âUp above the wall so high, like a diamond in the skyââŠit is on a wall?â.
He squinted thoughtfully.
âSince everyone must have ransacked Grettaâs room and his room, Arnold wouldnât be stupid to have hidden it thereâ.
âAre you saying that he would hide it somewhere with a high wall?â.
He nodded.
âShould we go back to the house of the Andersons?â.
He drove to the place.
Mirabel glared at them as they walked into the house.
âMirabel, do you have a high wall in this house? Something like a high wall?â.
âThe play house? Only the play house has high walls and a small door. Why do you ask?â.
âWhere is the play house?â.
She directed them to a pink and blue cartoon like house with very high walls and a small door that you had to crawl in to get inside.
There was a small book that was placed on the high wall.
Raymond climbed on a ladder and took the book.
It was âTwinkle Twinkle Little Starâ rhyme book.
He opened the book.
The missing two pages of Grettaâs secret book and a memory card was in it.
