The next day, they both visited a doctor who commenced treatment on Nathan. And after a few weeks of treatments, they both engaged in rigorous bedroom activities. But all to no avail.

And when it seemed like the doctor’s medication wasn’t changing anything, they both went on to visit different prayer houses as well as some herbalists who specialised in fertility cases.

But still, there was no positive change in Nathan’s sexual health in the end. And at a point, Nathan gradually began losing himself to depression with the thoughts of death ringing in his head.

While they were sleeping one night, Nathan woke up in the middle of the night and sneaked out of the bedroom straight and into the kitchen.

There he reached for a kitchen knife and was attempting to stab himself when Daniella who had been keeping a close eye on him, suddenly barged in and quickly embraced him tightly with tears.

“Nathan please!” She shouted grabbing him firmly amidst tears.

“Let go of me, Daniella. I want to end it all here and now! Of what use am I?” He insisted trying to free himself from Daniella’s grip.

“No Nathan. I won’t let you kill yourself under my watch” Daniella insisted holding him firmly.

And after much dragging, Nathan broke into tears letting go of the knife in his hand.

“I am useless. I don’t deserve to live” He cried.

Then holding his cheeks with both palms, Daniella tearfully stared into his eyes and said,

“No, you are not useless Nathan. You are strong and you will overcome this” Daniella said reassuringly.

“Until when exactly? When will this end? When?” Nathan questioned going down on his knees with tears and pain.

Daniella quickly crouched to his level and held him close in a warm embrace. Then slowly rubbing his back, Nathan rested his chin on her shoulder and broke into more tears.

A while after, when they had both returned to the bedroom, Daniella then said,

“I have made up my mind to do it” she said.

“Do what?” Nathan asked in a calm tone.

“I will let Caleb impregnate me. If that’s the only way to restore happiness in my home. Then I will do it” Daniella said.
