Episode 17
Today is D-day, my birthday. There is something special about this particular day. Over the years, i have always celebrated my birthday with just my mum but this year, i got another gift from apart from adding another year to my age, Kimberly. She as changed so many things in my life. I wonder what i was doing before i met her. All i can say is she is a Godsent. Speaking of Kimberly, she should be here by now. Just then i heard the doorbell, it must be her. As i opened the door.
Kimberly: Hey birthday girl, how are you doing ?
Lucia: I’m great.
Kimberly: Oh my gosh, you look so amazing.
Lucia: Thanks.
I was wearing a black dress and black heels that my mum got for me.
Kimberly: Did i tell you, your mum got a great taste. The dress looks perfect on you.
Lucia: Yes you did.
We bnth laughed as we come to sit in the living room.
Kimberly: Beautiful hair to do.
Lucia: Thanks. The compliments are getting too much, dont you think ?
Kimberly: Ofcourse not, nothing is too much, its all about you, nobody else.
Lucia: Thanks
Kimberly: How about your mum ?
Lucia: She is in the Kitchen.
Kimberly: I should say hi.
Lucia: No, that is out of bounds.
Kimberly: Why ?
Lucia: She doesnt want anyone to see the cake before its completely ready.
Kimberly: That’s understandable, you got a great mum.
Lucia: Thanks.
Kimberly: So what will you be doing after the in-house party ?
Lucia: Nothing, i guess.
Kimberly: Perfect. Then we are going out.
Lucia: To where ?
Kimberly: You will find out.
Hey girls my mum said as she came into the living room carrying the cake. It was pink and white. What a colour combination! It looks so beautiful.
Kimberly: Good day ma.
Mum: Hey dear, how are you ?
Kimberly: Fine ma.
Lucia: Oh mum ? The cake is perfect, thank you very much.
Mum: Anything for my dear.
Kimberly: All right birthday girl make a wish and blow the candles.
Mum: Go on.
I made a wish and blew out the candles, my mum and Kimberly clapped. My mum gave me a hug and said.
Mum: Happy birthday my girl.
Kimberly: Happy birthday bestie.
Kimberly gave me a hug as well. I will be right back, my mum said and left.
Kimberly: I got something, for here.
It was wrapped, i opened it and saw a beautiful wristwatch. She took it and were it on my wrist.
Lucia: Its gorgeous, thanks.
Kimberly: Plus its water-resistant, incase you have it on the day i get to get to push into the pool. We both laughed. Just then my mum walked in with a bottle of champagne wearing shorts. I and Kimberly were shocked to see her, then she said.
Mum: Who is ready 2 party ?
It was fun, the cake, the wine, the music and dancing. In fact, everything.
