Read Story: SEASON 1 EPISODE 31
Heather’s POV
I ran home, and raced upstairs to shower. I decided I would go to the shelter to forget about everything, besides I had to check on the kids anyways. After I showered, I wore a pair of black thermal leggings, a white t-shirt, and a Victoria Secret’s Pink sweatshirt on top. I tied my hair into a side ponytail and grabbed my big brown purse before heading out. I took my keys and phone before opening the door, coming face to face with William. I stepped back, startled. He had a blank look on face. I opened my mouth to speak but he stepped inside the house. I immediately stepped back again and he stepped forward. I frowned at William, and he smirked. “What are you doing here?” I asked angrily. “I wanted to spend the rest of the day with my wife.” His smirk grew and his eyes were amused. Is he nuts? I need to get him checked out by the doctor. Apparently he has short-term memory loss because he is acting like he didn’t call me a w—e or a s–t. “Yeah, right. You want to spend the day with the w—e.” I snapped sarcastically. He rolled his eyes. “You are so sensitive Heather. Okay, look I’m sorry I took my anger out on you. Now, let’s go.” “Who said you’re coming? I am going by myself and you are not following me.” William sighed. Before I could even react, he walked over and picked me up bridal style. “What the hell, William! Put me down before I cut your family jewels off!” I yelled at him. He grinned, “Gee, I didn’t know you were into kinky stuff, Heather. I’ll remember that for later.” I looked at him wide-eyed and began to choke on air. Yet, the jerk was chuckling. He carried me out to his car and dropped me into the passenger seat before going to the other side. “Where to?” William asked curiously, as he drove around the fountain, and out of the driveway. “Hell,” I said sarcastically. He glared at me and I sighed defeatedly. “The shelter,” I said and he nodded. Five minutes later, we pulled into the parking lot of the shelter. I looked over at the brick building, that was once a hotel. I bought it about 2 years ago because the owners were retiring and didn’t want to keep it. It is a four story building and has at least ten rooms on each floor, so it is a pretty good size for a shelter.
There were vines growing on the sides and it had several windows that made the building bright on the inside. I leaped out of the car excitedly and raced through the double doors, into the lobby. I looked around the golden interior before spotting Hillary. She was at the front desk sorting through papers, and looked up as I skipped over happily. “Hillary!” I yelled and ran behind the desk to hug her. “Heather!” She yelled back with the same enthusiasm. I gave her a bear hug and she laughed. Hillary Lexington is a good friend of mine and the caretaker of the kids. She lives at the shelter and absolutely loves it, and the kids love her too. Her optimistic personality, bright midnight-blue eyes, and dark red hair makes her very attractive as well. She has a line of guys all the time, but she always puts the kids first before anything, which is another reason why I love her. “You brought your husband?”, she whispered. I realized I totally forgot about William, who was casually walking in while looking around the lobby.
