Heather’s POV

These past few days have been total hell. I got fired from my job and social services is still working on the shelter. So far, they haven’t found anything wrong with it, but they are still suspicious. I can’t even go outside because the paparazzi are hounding our gates, but thankfully, the new guards my dad hired, are keeping them out. My family has been really supportive and I really appreciate them, especially my parents. I know its hard to keep up with social appearances when your daughter has been labeled as a gold-digging w—e. But, my parents are doing their best, and bite the ear off of anyone who mentions it. In the meantime, we have to work on restraining Alex and Andrew from leaving the house. They are planning on beating the crap out of William so we know if we let one of them leave the house, that’s where they are headed. Not that I have a problem with them doing that, it’s just that my reputation is shattered already, and if I know better, William would use any leverage they give him to show that my brothers are just as bad as me. I can’t let their reputations become shattered as well. Right now, I was in my bedroom, laying on my bed. I’m trying to brainstorm ways to get back at William or at least make sure the shelter is safe. Suddenly, a thought hit me, what if I do an interview with the same news channel William talked to?

That way, I could get my statement out publicly and bring a sort of closure to this mess. That’s it! I hopped out of bed and raced downstairs. “Alex! Andrew! Stephanie! Mom! Dad! I have an idea!” They walked into the living room quickly, looking pretty confused and sleepy? Oops, it’s four in the morning and I didn’t even know. I guess I spent my time thinking in bed, instead of sleeping. “What is it BooBoo?” My dad yawned. “Sorry, I didn’t know what time it was. But I came up with an idea to help workout this mess. What if I do an interview with the same news channel William talked to? I could talk about what he said and how its not true, and other stuff as well.” They looked at each other. “If you want to do that and feel comfortable, then why not?” Andrew smiled. “I’ll talk to the news channel later and see if we can get you the interview today itself.” Alex said. “Thank you guys so much! I know these past few days have been hard and I really appreciate your efforts to help me.” I kissed all of their cheeks and hugged them. “We’ll do anything to help you Heather.” Stephanie grinned. “I know.” I smiled genuinely for the first time in the past few days. “Now how about we all go to sleep. You need to be wide-awake for that interview.” Mom yawned. “Yep, let’s go. Night everyone.” I was starting to feel sleepy myself. I fell on top of my bed happily. I can finally sleep much more peacefully. I have a plan and I’m gonna go through with it. Four hours later, I hopped out of bed and got ready, feeling energized from my nap. Once I showered and got dressed, I raced downstairs to the kitchen for breakfast. Everyone was already awake, and Mom and Stephanie were making breakfast. I walked over to the fridge and took out some leftover waffle batter. “Anyone want waffles?” I asked. “I do!” Alex called out, as he finished washing the coffee cups. He was dressed up casually in a blue flannel shirt and black jeans. That’s odd, he usually wears his suit to work.
