Heather’s POV

We all sat down in the living room after putting the furniture back. I was still confused about William’s behavior, but I decided to let it slide and ask him later. From talking to them for an hour or so, I learned that Nathan and Jackson were really funny, and Freddy was actually more of the serious one. Cassy and Jessica were really sweet. I was enjoying their company a lot and I knew we all would be great friends in the future.

The doorbell rang and William went to get it. “Heather!”, I heard a male voice call out frantically. It sounded like the person was running. Suddenly, a guy with black hair and hazel eyes rushed into the room, panting. William came in right after him, frowning at him. “Jason!”, I yelled, grinning as I ran towards my best friend.

“BooBoo!”, he yelled back and twirled me around, hugging me. “What are you doing here? I thought you were in Michigan for business?”, I asked him confusedly once he put me down. “Alex called me last night and told me about Andrew. I came back to pound him to a pulp.”, he said angrily. “Jason Richard Wright! You will do no such thing!”, I said, punching his arm. “Why not? He has been nothing but an a—–e to you since forever! He deserves it. Alex said he would help me beat him up.”, he glared at me. “A—–e or not, he is still my brother! What would happen to Landon and Stephanie?”, I glared back. He sighed and hugged me again, “Why are you so nice to everyone? I swear sometimes you make me want to pull my hair off until I’m bald!” I laughed, pulling away, “Wouldn’t that be a sight! You wouldn’t look like Shaggy from Scooby-Doo anymore.” He growled, “I do not look like Shaggy!” “Keep telling yourself that and you might believe it.”, I snorted. Our banter was interrupted by someone’s throat clearing. I turned around to see William was still glaring at Jason, but Jason didn’t seem to notice. “Everyone, this is my best friend Jason Wright.”, I introduced him to the rest. Jessica was practically drooling at Jason and Jason was staring at Jessica wide-eyed, like she was an angel from heaven. I bit my lip to keep from laughing. “Nice to meet you.”, Freddy said though he was frowning at Jessica. I nudged Jason to shake him from his trance. He looked away and shook hands with Nathan, Freddy, and Jackson, “Nice to meet you guys too.” We sat down and the conversation started up again.

Jason fit right in with William’s friends, joking about random people and poking fun at each other. After a while, he turned to William, “It’s nice to finally meet my best friend’s husband properly. You better not hurt her or else you will have the same fate Andrew is gonna have.” I elbowed him hard at that. “Ouch, Jesus woman, you’re gonna kill me with those elbows of yours!”, he glared playfully at me. Before I could reply, William wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me till I was sitting on his lap.

What the hell? I don’t know how much more my heart can handle of his behavior. I sat there staring at his face stunned.
