Read Story: SEASON 1 EPISODE 6

William’s POV

To help form my revenge plan, I decided I needed to find out more about Heather. So I thought about striking up a conversation with Andrew.

I knew those two had problems, therefore he should be more than happy to reveal some important details about her. Right? “So Andrew, how are the hotels doing?”, I asked casually. “It’s alright Will, I’m thinking about opening a new branch soon.”, He replied, taking a sip of his soda. “Cool.”, I replied, not really knowing what to say. “How about your company?”, Andrew asked curiously. “It’s great. I just closed a deal with Mr. Smith.”, I said. Andrew just grinned and asked,”Isn’t he awesome?” I gave a small smile, “I didn’t really get to hang out with him properly. I noticed that he is very close to Heather though.” Andrew’s grin disappeared and he suddenly got interested in his soda bottle. “Yeah, he is like a second father to all of us.”, he said, taking another sip. “I noticed,” I said chuckling, “Heather literally squeezed the life out of him when she saw him in our house.” “Did she?

That sounds like her, always chirpy and s—–g up to people.” , he said, anger starting to show in his voice. “Do you not like that about Heather?”, I asked curiously. He chugged down his soda, “She is so embarrassing. I can’t stand to think she is my sister. That’s why I try to avoid her as much as possible. I can’t go out without wondering if she did anything stupid that would affect our family. I don’t understand how my parents are ‘proud’ of her.”, he said using quotations. “I like to think they just go along with her because she is hopeless. I’m sorry you had to marry her. I tried to stop it. I really did.”, he said, looking at me sympathetically.

I was stunned. That was harsh, even for Heather. I mean, she is his baby sister, so one would think that he is super overprotective, instead he is just embarrassed by her. Our conversation was interrupted when Stephanie and Heather skipped into the living room, arm in arm, and announced dinner was served. I noticed Andrew glaring at Heather, and I saw Heather gulp. My gut was telling me that this dinner isn’t going to be a friendly one. Andrew went to get Landon, who was still playing with Mr. Montgomery. So I walked to the dining room while talking to Alex about business rivals we both had. Mrs. Montgomery had just put down the bowl of pasta and garlic bread. The table was rectangular and set for eight, with one person on each end, and three people on each of the sides. Mr. and Mrs. Montgomery took the ends, Alex, Andrew, and I sat on one side, while Heather, Stephanie, and Landon took the other side. As soon as prayer was said, everyone served themselves except Heather. She was tearing the bread up on Landon’s plate, to make sure he could eat it easily.

Mr. Montgomery asked Heather, “How’s the shelter going, Heather?” Heather looked up from the bread, and her whole face started to glow. I guess this shelter is something special to her. “It’s so great dad, Cassy took her first steps, Freddy got a scholarship from NYU, and Jeremy got first place in the art competition!”, she said excitedly.
