ALIYAH’S POV

I ate my breakfast in hurry. I wouldn’t want to delay him. I was meeting with Ayomikun at Ondo state to collect my story.

It’s been few days since the reunion with my parents. I can’t tell how happy we were that fateful night we arrived at my home. We all shed tears of joy that night. It was really hard for my dad to believe it’s me. My tinted hair and my cloth.

“Aliyah, you changed a lot. You’re looking much more better. I was scared something…” My mother broke out in tears that night, feeling all my body.

If I should narrate how everything went, we’re gonna cry. Our tears was unstoppable. Bro Haq, sister Aishat, my mom, dad and I, we all cried.

Chief and his wife with teary eyes had left late at night. Joe and david hugged me passionately. David didn’t wanna let go. My parents thanked chief so much for taking care of me.

Tife was the one that got shocked the next day. She couldn’t believe her eyes. She tried to hold her tears as she hit me for leaving her but she couldn’t. She broke down in tears. I hugged her. Tife asked me to narrate everything to her.

“It’s a long story joor” I replied

“Abi they have use your head there ni. You that can talk for Africa. Tell me joor” She said.

I stared at her for a while. “Tife, so you like as my village people dey worry me before wey I dey do anyhow. You no want make I change?”

“Change? Aliyah. You? Okay, cut the story short”

“Tife, I already used a day to narrate all that happened to my family. It’s a long story. I added Chioma, Annie and the rest and they also told me to narrate my story to them. It’s a long one. I’ll get tired talking all day.”

She gave me a killer look and formed anger. She stood up to leave.

“Okay. This is it. I’ll get everyone’s point of view. Sophia and the rest will send theirs through WhatsApp. The only problem now is my step mom. She…”

“Your step mom?” Tife interrupted.

“Chill babe. You’ll get to know her. I’ll put it down in a book and I’ll give you all a copy.” I said.

“Really?” She widened her eyes.

“Yes Bestie. Trust me” I replied and thus contacted Ayomikun Bam. I had visited Chris in the hospital but didn’t meet him. He was gone already. When I went with Chief, I got Sophia’s view and she gave me Chris address. He was surprised to see me. I told him what I was there for and he entertained me and told me everything.

“Aliyah, hurry up. Ondo state is far” My mom said as she made to go to work. She was looking much better than the state I met her the day I arrived.

“Okay mom. I’m through.” I said and quickly cleared the table.

“But first, you’ll give me a ride to my workplace” She said.

I stared at her and mummured.

AYOMIKUN’S POV

I stretched my body lazily and dragged my self off the bed. I took my phone and checked my phone. 7 missed call.

“Yeee!” I screamed and quickly ran out of the bedroom. I was supposed to be at the junction now. She might be there already.

I hurriedly took my bath, brushed but first thing first, i had already soaked garri before doing any other thing.

My phone rang as I put on my grandpa’s cloth. I had wash all my cloth and I had to do that. I answered the call and put it on speaker.

“I’m almost there. The place you described” She said.

“Okay. Close your eyes and open it, I’ll reach there” I said and hanged up trying to struggle with the rope of the trouser.

I wore my slippers and ran out of the room. My aunty and my cousin laughed as I came out. I hissed and ran.

I could hear people laughing and staring at me as I passed. Those who knew me tried to stop me but i didn’t stop. Some kids were laughing and calling my name. I hissed and didn’t mind them. I can’t blame them, some don’t have grandpa not to talk of their grandpa giving them his cloth. But truth be told, I looked like they threw me inside the cloth.

I smiled as I saw her standing beside her car. She was really looking pretty. She wore a gown which revealed her hourglass shape and was putting on her hijab but it wasn’t a long one. I was mesmerized by her beauty.

“Hi” I waved and moved close to her.

She stared at me for some seconds and laughed. I stood still and glared at her.

“I’m… I’m sorry for laughing. Actually, you look funny in that wear. Who dash you?” She said amidst laughter.

“Shebi it’s your story you came to collect? Abi? And yah laughing at me?” I asked staring at her.

“No. I’m sorry. Just..”

“Do you know my house?” I asked.

“No”

“When you’re ready to collect yah story. Come to my house.” I said and turned.

“Ayo, c’mon…”

“Yah still saying c’mon.” I hissed and crossed the road.

“Ayo, i swear I’ll kill you. Wait” She screamed and crossed.

I looked back and saw she also crossed the road. I smiled and jog.

“Ayo, stop!… Ayo…” She called out and followed me.

I noticed she was getting close. I ran and laughed as she screamed my name and ran after me. This is what I do best with the kids. Running while they chase me.

“Shey you’ll make jest of me again?” I asked still running.

“No” She answered.

“Are you sure?”

“I promise”

“Okay. But I’m enjoying it. We’re almost at my house”

She screamed and increased her pace. I laughed and increased mine too.
