SOPHIA’S POV

“What did you just say?” I asked again to be sure of what I heard.

“You.” She said instead.

I moved forward and gave her a slap. She fell to the ground holding her right cheek. Why didn’t they tie the idiot hand.

“You heard my question? Who did you say you are?” I asked angrily again.

She glared at me and refused to talk. I was getting totally pissed off. I felt like strangling her that very moment. I moved forward to her. Someone held my hand. Chris.

“Sophia, I’m confused. What’s going on?” He asked.

I stared at him for a minute. Confused is he? No, not until you go six feet down. I hissed and ordered one of the boys around.

“Tie this fool up”

“Wh.. What… Sophia, why.. What did I do?” He stammered trying to struggle free from the boys but they overpowered him and tied his hands to his back.

I moved closer to Bella or whoever she said she is. I slapped her hard again as she glared at me. She really has some guts. I pulled her up and gave her a punch in her stomach. She groaned and yelled.

“Tie her up” I said and faced Chris who was ranting rubbish I didn’t hear since. I sat opposite him and moved my face close to him that I could feel his hot breath and notice he was trembling. I smiled.

“Baby, you know I love you. Don’t you?” I asked.

“You bitc…”

I didn’t let him complete the word before I sent a slap across his face. Why is everyone getting me mad. Why? I thought and stood up.

“Stanley, what are you going to do with these things?” I asked Stanley after realizing we got the wrong person.

“I’m not a thing. Be careful.” I heard Bella say.

I was surprised. I turned and looked at her. She was bleeding in the nose. What’s giving this girl so much gut. She’s not even afraid. God! Who’s this?

“I’m Aliyah. And mind you, I” She answered like she heard my thought but I didn’t let her complete the sentence before giving her another slap.

She spat blood and looked at me. Her eyes were red and she glared at me with teary eyes. I smiled and moved closer to her.

“You’re giving me every opportunity I wished for. Ever since you entered that house and you raised that stinking mouth of yours to say shit to me, I’ve been wanting to beat you to death. I’ve gotten plans for you. I feel like killing you bit by bit but i got no opportunity to do so, until now” I moved closer to her and stared deep into her eyes. “I won’t kill you right now, I’ll kill you slowly” I laughed and turned back at the boys and Chris who was staring at us. I turned back at her but that was a turn I shouldn’t have make.

I groaned in pain as she headbutt me. I staggered backwards and held my head with my hands. I feel it was breaking. I felt a liquid in my hand and touched it. Blood. I yelled and charged forward to her.

I heard a loud thud on the ground. I heard another again and the guys around panicked. I looked around and saw two guys on the floor lifelessly. Fear gripped me and I quickly ran for cover. The person was shooting from outside and with a silent pistol cause we heard no sound except the windows cracking as the bullets flew in.

Stanley and his guys brought out their gun. I could see Chris smiling. What has he been up to. Another guy fell down dead. He had been shot on the head.

I stared at Chris and he was smiling at me trying to lose the rope. I stood up and charged at him. I pushed him to the floor and with all my strength, I hit him with my fist. He was helpless as his hands was tied to his back and he couldn’t do anything.

I stopped and stare at him. He wasn’t moving anymore. Is he dead? I raised up his hand and dropped it. I couldn’t phantom if he was dead or not but I think he is.

I looked around and realized I was the only one In the room with Bella. Her eyes was wide open and I could see her trembling. So, she fears gun. Gunshots sound was heard and I know we’re surely done for cause the securities would have heard. But I’ll escape.

I went forward to her and pulled her up. I put her in front of me and pushed her slightly using her as cover. I saw a pistol on the floor. I picked it up and pointed it to her back.

“Move” I commanded and she moved shaking. I pushed her continuously.

This time around, the gunshot increased and it seems two gangs were at war. I panicked but I made sure the beast in me take control. I’ll shoot anyone on sight.

JOE’S POV

We drove into the estate and stopped at the checkpoint. We asked the securities if they’d seen any Lexux Rs 350. I gave the description and they answered yes.

Now, I was sure they’re here. I told the police and my boys. The leader of the police team suggested we search the houses and check.

“No. This is a kidnapping case. The culprits won’t use a complete house. Instead, they’ll use uncompleted buildings.” I explained.

“But the estate is large. How are we supposed to locate all the uncompleted buildings?” One of the police asked.

“Here” I placed the tab on the car bonnet. “The car is around the north end side”

“The car? What are you saying? We’re searching for a human being. What has car gotten to do with this?” The leader asked.

“Sir, I wasn’t just brought from the street. I’m a contract. I was bought by chief. I was trained. Let me conclude before anymore talk” I said trying not to loose patience.

“The car has a tracker and we tracked it down to this place. That was why we came here. We’ll search all the uncompleted buildings around this side. We’re…1,4,8,12,14… We’re fourteen in number. We’ll spread out and comb every nooks and crannies of the uncompleted buildings. Once we find the car, we find them.” I explained.

“Okay.” The leader said calmly.

“Are you ready guys?”

“Yes sir” They answered in unison.

“Okay. Let’s go”

We grouped ourselves and started searching. We haven’t searched for fifteen minutes when one of my guards told me he saw madam entered an uncompleted building. I asked him if he was sure and he answered yes.

I asked him how many they were there and he told me they were four there. I asked them to calm down and lie low. If they see anything suspicious, they should inform me. I’ll meet them shortly.

I needed no one to tell me there’s something fishy going on. The way she was surprised when we came in. Her daughter wasn’t kidnapped. Only Bella was. And now, she’s here. I guess it was the uncompleted building Chief was building for her.

I hurried there with the boys with me without informing the police. He thinks low.

“Sir, we heard a loud scream. I recognize the voice sir” The guards over there told me.

“Whose voice?” I asked, still running towards the location.

“Madam Bella own” The guy replied “It seems they’re hurting her” He added.

“Go… I’ll meet you” I ordered and ran more fast.

I got there and heard gunshot sound. I clicked my gun and stealthily got in. The rest followed behind. I saw the car and I could see my boys in a shootout with some guys. They were taking cover. I could see the guys clearly and shooting them wasn’t a problem.

I pulled the trigger and shot one. Then another. My boys looked back and smiled when they saw me. I nodded and folded my hands together and swiped the air and opened my hands. Then, I raised my fingers and on the third finger, they threw Tear gas towards them.

They were not expecting it. They ran forward trying to cover their nose. I hit one with my gun and he fell down. So did the others also fell down. My guys had done the same.

“She’s not out yet sir. I…”

The gate opened roughly and the police came in. They looked around and stared at us. I guess they were surprised.

“Wow! You…” The leader wanted to say something but pointed his gun towards my direction. “Drop your gun” He said.

He wasn’t referring to me. His eyes was directed to somewhere else. I looked behind and saw Chief’s wife with Bella. They were both bleeding. Bella hands was tied together and Chief’s wife was pointing a gun to her head.

I moved back and stared at Bella. She was surprised to see us, I think.

“No, this isn’t happening. You wouldn’t hurt this innocent girl, will you ma?” I begged.

“I won’t hesitate to if you try shit. Drop your guns. You all” She commanded.

“Drop it.” I ordered but they didn’t drop it. They were staring at me.

“You all should drop the gun! Now!” I barked at them and they all dropped it.

She moved sideways leaving a space for her to get it if a gun was in my hand. She dragged Aliyah with her towards her car. No. No. I don’t trust her. I moved forward slowly and she got me, I think. She pointed the gun towards me and I stopped.

“Joe, don’t try me” She warned. “You think I’m joking?” She asked and pointed the at Aliyah’s head and clicked it.

“No ma, no madam, you can mistakenly pull the… What!” I screamed as Blood spattered on Aliyah’s face.
