But were deep in thought. Or do you feel that you can’t talk to me? Abies asked.

Dave: no, its not that. I wasn’t thinking about anything important just about how the competitions would be like tommorrow.

Abies: if you say so. But i want u to know that you can always talk to me, okay?

Dave: yes ma,i have heard.

Abies left Dave in the dining and went outside the palace.

I just hope i don’t get into trouble because of this care Abies is showing towards me. Dave thought.

Dave got up afterwards and was about leaving when Ovie called him.

Ovie: hey handsome, where are you running off to without even saying hi to me? Its not fair oo.

Dave: Please, princess, don’t mind me oo. I have a lot of things to do today, that’s why i’m in haste.

Ovie: ok, if you say so. When will u be back? Cause i really want to get to know you better.

Dave: -surprised- well i don’t know because i have to make some preparations in respect to the competition.

Maybe when i get back i’ll let you know.

Ok, but just one more thing. Ovie said.

My name is Ovie and not princess. Please stop addressing me formally. She continued.

Dave: okay, Ovie. I’ll be on my way.

Ovie: see u later.

Dave stopped at phil’s house before going to the carpenter’s shop.

He then told phil everything that had transpired between Abies and himself. But he expertly left out the dream.

Phil: my guy the way i da see am ehn, princess Abies don fall in love with you. I be nor wan talk am before oo, but for that party wen our king do for you i come see her da look u da smile.

Dave: i thought i was the only one that saw it. Hmmm, what do i do?

Phil: Dave, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity oo. If u marry her you go automatically become the heir to the throne. Abii u nor wan be king?

Dave: phil, abeg abeg abeg, nor tell me dat one again. Me nor love am oo. She is beautiful sha and kind but i don’t just love her.

Phil: i don’t just know why good things happen to foolish people who don’t know how to grab an opportunity when they see one.

Dave: oga, e be like say u nor even knw say i nor be royal blood. How i wan take marry princess, the senior one for that matter?

Phil: dat one na ur headache. All i know be say u da f–k up.

Abeg i wan move. Come excort me reach front. Dave said.

I nor sabii da excort people wey nor sharp. Phil replied.

Ehn, u nor well na. Dave replied

They laughed and dave went to see the carpenter.

The carpenter’s shop was a partly painted room. It had liters of wood and foams everywhere, which was typical of every carpenter’s workshop.

Dave had gone there to check if the man was done with all the benches that were requested by the king.

The man was through with the construction and the spraying. What remained was the putting of the kingdoms insignia on each of the 25 benches. All of these were meant to be used by the participants, the dignitaries and the people of all the kingdoms participating in the competition.

There were benches in large quantities prior to the new 25 but this was a means to make sure that everybody would find somewhere to sit down.

Dave went back to the palace and instructed the servants to bring the benches to the palace. The next thing for dave to do was to meet the canopy men to supply a few plastic chairs and tables to be used by the kings and queens of each respective kingdom.

saturday finally came and the stage was already set for the competitions to hold.
Dave sat down in an unoccupied area and he was surprised when Ovie invited him to sit close to her in the front seat.
