Episode 28

I proofread my message and sent it after a little bit of hesitation.

“I’m still all eyes. Go ahead, please.”
With that, I inhaled deeply and exhaled heavily then I started typing again:
“Tunde, can you cope with such a woman?”
The typical Prince Charming I know would’ve responded in mere milliseconds, but this time around, he took his time quite well. I could tell he was reading my messages over and over again and thinking about the answer he would give back to me, so I wasn’t in a hurry at all. I was as patient as an ant, tapping my bedstead and humming a melodious song while I kept my intent gaze fixated on my smartphone’s screen.
Then Prince Charming started typing, probably after giving it a good thought. After what seemed like decades and a century, his message popped in eventually:
“I can cope with a woman like that, Lola.” His first paragraph contained a ‘heart emoji’, then his second paragraph continues:
“As long as she has everything I need in a woman, I’d be with her till death do us part. I’d never let her go unless she wants to, nor will I give her any reason to doubt or question my love for her. I’ll make sure I do everything within my power to make her happy all the time. Even if others might neglect, ridicule and abandon her, I won’t thread down that path. I’ll be her shoulder to lean on, and her helping hand all through the dark days of her misery.”
